“Jesus, I want you to help my this, but don’t touch my that…” How many times have we done this?
We go to the Lord with our burdens, yet, when we hear His Holy voice whisper – “I want this, too,” we sometimes don’t loosen our grip. It might not have anything to do with holding onto sin but more of something He is developing in us.
Jesus wants us to hand over our pride, give up control, and open our hearts to whatever He wants to change. He wants us to be aware of the little things that need “polishing” inside our hearts over what is on the surface of our circumstances.
If you are bringing a request for healing to Jesus, yet you are not willing to be humbled and accept help from others, You still haven’t surrendered everything.
If you bring Him your relationship desires, yet you don’t open up the deep well of your heart for Him to change what is necessary, your focus is on the wrong thing.
We must fully surrender our circumstances AND strong wills, so we will hear His voice, leading us. Be willing to lay everything at His feet.
